Transition Town & Tidy Town Kinsale Spring Fair
Transition Town Kinsale, the voluntary initiative promoting community solutions to climate change and peak oil, and Kinsale Tidy Towns have joined forces to host a Spring Fair on Saturday March 29th. It will feature numerous events ranging from an eco-market with stalls selling seeds, hemp and organic produce and providing information on all your sustainable needs; workshops on composting, seed sowing, crafts and drama improvisation; a car boot sale; clowns, jugglers and face painters and other street entertainment; Transition TV - an installation of film clips on themes of climate change, peak oil an sustainability; Cultivate's Powerdown Exhibits; Fair Trade café; and an evening of music, comedy and drama in the unique amphitheatre at Kinsale Further Education College.
Mr. Trevor Sargent, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, and the Mayor of Kinsale, Ms Mary Evans, will launch the TTK Kinsale & District Community Powerdown. This TTK initiative aims to engage the community in energy reduction in their homes and businesses, either by undertaking to achieve a number of targets over the year or by measuring their carbon footprint directly.
