Global Action Plan Facilitators’ Training Day

The Global Action Plan (GAP) EcoSaver Programme helps householders investigate and implement changes to their lives that will save them money and reduce some of the negative effects that a modern lifestyle can have upon the environment. 
Cork Environmental Forum started delivering GAP in autumn of 2002 and since then 64 programmes have run in locations throughout the City and County. The programme has been delivered in a variety of situations including to community groups, schools, within organisations and to specific interest groups. Many of these programmes have been delivered by previous participants who were so impressed that they wanted to get more involved.

This training day is for anyone who would like to become a Global Action Plan facilitator. The day will focus on a general introduction to facilitation skills, the specific details of the GAP programme and what is required from a facilitator. It is a chance for those interested to learn more and meet each other. Places are limited and priority will be given to applicants who have already participated in a GAP programme, those already active in community development or teaching and those with a passion for environmental and sustainability issues.

Attending does not commit you to deliver GAP. Previous training day participants have reported that even if they have not run the full programme, the day provided them with facilitation techniques and information that they have found useful in other aspects of their group work.

The training will take place at the Macroom E Business Centre, Bowl Road, Macroom. This venue is part of an initiative to support environmental good practice in business and other sectors of society in the Macroom region.
